Resize a video for TikTok

TikTok is 9:16, 1080 × 1920. Crop your video to fill the screen or keep it whole on a blurred background, and see where TikTok's buttons will land.

Your file never leaves this device. Everything runs in your browser.

How it works

  1. Drop your video and pick a shape: 9:16, 4:5, 1:1 or 16:9.
  2. Choose Fill to crop, or Fit to keep the whole frame on a blurred, black or white background. The preview shows the result.
  3. Resize, then download the MP4.

Questions

What size should a TikTok video be?

9:16, ideally 1080 × 1920. Other shapes play with bars around them.

Where does TikTok cover my video?

The caption, sound and name sit along the bottom and the buttons down the right side. The preview shades those areas.

Does my video get uploaded?

No. Your browser does the resizing on your device, and this page can't send the file anywhere.

Fill or Fit?

Fill crops the video so it covers the whole screen, and you choose which part to keep. Fit keeps every pixel and fills the empty space with a blurred copy of the video, or black, or white.

Why is my result smaller than 1080 × 1920?

The tool never upscales. If the part of the video you keep is smaller than the target, the result keeps that size and the right shape rather than getting blurry.

What are the safe zones on the preview?

The shaded areas are where each app puts its buttons, name and caption over your video. Keep text and faces out of them.
