Use Kuro in Claude Code: one command, one sign-in
Add Kuro's MCP server to Claude Code with one command, sign in from /mcp, and make images, clips and voice-overs from your terminal.
Claude Code reaches Kuro the way it reaches any remote MCP server: you register the endpoint once, sign in once in the browser, and from then on Claude Code can call Kuro’s tools. What it makes lands in your Kuro library, the same one the app shows you.
Using Claude on the web or the desktop app instead? That is a connector, not a command: see Use Kuro inside Claude.
Add the server
Run this in a terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http kuro https://api.meetkuro.com/mcp
That stores Kuro for the project you ran it in, which is Claude Code’s default
scope. To have it in every project, add --scope user:
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user kuro https://api.meetkuro.com/mcp
There is no API key to paste. Kuro signs in with OAuth, and Claude Code keeps the token and refreshes it for you.
-
Start Claude Code in the same folder:
claude -
Type
/mcpat its prompt. -
Choose kuro. A browser opens on Kuro: sign in (or create an account), review what Claude Code may do, and approve the connection.
Prefer to stay in the shell? This runs the same sign-in without opening a session:
claude mcp login kuro
On a machine with no browser, such as over SSH, claude mcp login kuro --no-browser prints the sign-in address instead. Open it on your own machine
and paste the address you land on back at the prompt.
Claude Code’s non-interactive mode (claude -p) cannot run the sign-in, so sign
in once interactively before you script it.
Check it worked
Run /mcp again: kuro shows as connected. Then ask for something that costs
nothing:
How many Kuro credits do I have left?
A first job: light a phone photo like a studio
Claude Code has a shell, so it can send a file from your disk. It asks Kuro for an upload slot, sends the file from the shell, and uses it as a reference:
Take ./bag.jpg and light it like a studio shot on a grey sweep. Tell me the price before you start.
It names the model and the price in one line and waits. Say yes, and it starts the image, checks on it until it is ready, and hands you a link to it in Kuro.
What it is told when it connects
Kuro sends its rules with its tools, so you do not have to explain them:
- Ask before spending. For an open idea it pitches a few concepts first. For a concrete one it states the format, the model and the price, and it can price a whole plan before starting anything.
- Read a model before using it. Every model comes with a guide: how its prompt wants to be shaped, what it cannot combine, what it gets wrong.
- Reuse before making. Your Subjects and your library come first.
Longer jobs, such as a film, a carousel, a talking head or a week of posts, come as written procedures the server carries. Claude Code reads the right one before it starts.
Remove it
claude mcp remove kuro
claude mcp logout kuro clears the stored sign-in and keeps the server. To cut
every agent off at once, revoke the connection in Kuro under Settings →
Connections.
The commands above are the ones in Anthropic’s Claude Code MCP documentation.
Everything here runs in the studio.
Every model named on this page is one you can pick from the composer.
