Kuro vs Higgsfield: product video ads, made by you or an agent
You make short product videos for social: a 15-second vertical ad, then another next week with the same product. Higgsfield is built for that in its web app, with ready-made ad templates, avatars and almost every flagship video model. Kuro is built so an agent can make the whole film over MCP and keep it editable. Both can run the same Seedance 2.5 model, and Kuro can run it on your own Higgsfield API key.
Which should you choose?
- Choose Kuro if
- an agent should make the whole ad (scenes, takes, render) and you want it kept and editable. Also if you'd rather save a product or person from a few photos than train on 20 to 80, or want your work kept out of model training. Kuro also lets you use Higgsfield's models on your own Higgsfield API key without a second subscription.
- Choose Higgsfield if
- you want ready-made ad templates and avatars (Marketing Studio has over 1,500 templates), the widest set of video models in one plan, Soul's look, or clips up to 30 seconds in Cinema Studio. Choose it too if you work in the web app more than through an agent.
- Switching probably isn't worth it if
- your ads come out of Marketing Studio templates and you're happy with them. That flow isn't available to agents even on Higgsfield, and Kuro has no equivalent template library.
The same job in both
A 15-second vertical ad for a product from two product photos, on Seedance 2.5 at 720p with sound.
Kuro
- Save the product as a Subject from the two photos. There's no training and no charge.
- Start a 9:16 storyboard with three 5-second scenes and tag the product in each. Write the scenes yourself, or have Claude or Codex draft the whole board over MCP.
- Make a still for each scene, keep the ones you like, and animate each scene on Seedance 2.5 at 720p.
- Render (free) and export.
One 15-second 9:16 MP4 in your library. You can re-shoot one scene without touching the others, and the product is saved for next week's ad.
Higgsfield
- On Plus or higher, open Video and choose Seedance 2.5.
- Attach both product photos as @ references (up to 30 images).
- Write a prompt that describes each beat: the opening, the product moment and the end card.
- Set 9:16, 15 seconds and 720p, and generate.
One 15-second 9:16 clip with native audio in a single pass. To change one beat you regenerate the clip, and the next ad starts from the photos again unless you build Elements. Marketing Studio's templates are the faster route, but its cost and resolution aren't published and it's web-only.
What decides it
| Decision | Kuro | Higgsfield | Sources |
|---|---|---|---|
| Models | 57 curated models. Several of them (Soul 2, Seedance 2.5 and 2.0, Kling v3, Wan 3.0) run through Higgsfield itself. | The widest video shelf in one plan: Seedance 2.5, Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1, Wan 3.0, Hailuo and Higgsfield's own Soul, plus lip-sync, voice cloning and dubbing. No standalone music model. | Higgsfield pricing, Kuro models |
| Ad templates | A public catalog of recipes (reusable prompts and workflows), with no ad-template library of its size. | Marketing Studio: over 1,500 templates (TV spot, UGC, unboxing, try-on) with avatars and a Brand Kit. Web app only. | Marketing Studio, Kuro recipes |
| Agent access (MCP) | A hosted MCP server (OAuth) with more than 100 tools, including storyboards from draft to render and export. | A hosted MCP server (OAuth, paid plan) that generates, upscales, uses Soul characters and Elements, and does voice. Marketing Studio isn't available to agents, every agent generation costs credits even on Unlimited models, and there's no built-in spend cap. | Connect an agent, Marketing Studio, Unlimited models, Kuro for agents |
| The same product or person in every shot | A Subject is saved from photos you already have, with no training. You tag it by name. | Soul ID is trained on 20 to 80 photos of one person and can't be exported. Elements are @ references for characters, locations and props. | Soul ID, Seedance help |
| Several shots as one film | A storyboard: scenes, re-shoot one, render (free) and export. There's no timeline editor. | Cinema Studio makes clips up to 30 seconds, and Popcorn makes 8-frame storyboards. There's no in-app timeline: assembly happens in Premiere, Resolve or After Effects plugins. | Cinema Studio, External integrations |
| Entry price | Starter: $19 a month for 800 credits. On the Free plan, work runs on your own keys. | Starter: $15 a month for 200 credits, with the Seedance 2.0 Fast and Mini models only. Plus: $49 a month, or $39 billed yearly, for 1,000 credits and every model. | Higgsfield pricing, Kuro pricing |
| Unused credits | Plan credits renew monthly. Top-ups never expire. | Subscription credits expire every cycle. Top-up packs last 90 days and need an active subscription. | Higgsfield pricing, Top-up expiry, Kuro pricing |
| Your own provider keys | Yes, including a Higgsfield API key. Requests Higgsfield can run are billed to your Higgsfield balance and cost no Kuro credits. | No option documented. The developer API is a separate prepaid dollar balance that plans don't include. | Higgsfield API, Kuro for agents |
| Training on your work | Kuro trains no model on your prompts, uploads or outputs. | Inputs and outputs may be used for training, except on Team and Enterprise plans. | Higgsfield Terms, Higgsfield Team plan, Kuro Privacy |
The same workload, priced
One 15-second vertical ad on Seedance 2.5 at 720p with sound, from two product photos.
- Kuro
- 298.5 credits (9 for three Seedream 5 Lite stills, 289.5 for three 5-second Seedance 2.5 clips, render free), which is $7.09 at Starter's rate. On your own Higgsfield API key the clips bill to Higgsfield instead, so Kuro charges only the stills ($0.21).
- Higgsfield
- About 98 credits, roughly $4.80 on Plus billed monthly or $3.82 billed yearly. Seedance 2.5 isn't on Higgsfield's price table, so this is our arithmetic from its own blog's 52 credits per 8 seconds at 720p. Through its developer API, the same 15 seconds costs $2.16 to $3.09.

Moving from Higgsfield to Kuro
Your generated images, video and audio leave with you. Assets supports bulk download, and your rights to them survive cancelling.
A Soul ID doesn't come with you: it can't be exported, and neither can Elements, presets or Canvas templates. In Kuro you rebuild a character or product as a Subject from the photos you trained it on, with no training step. Canvas workflows become recipes or storyboards.
Subscription credits expire at the end of the cycle, so time the switch to your renewal. If you want Higgsfield's models without the subscription, create a developer API key at open.higgsfield.ai and add it in Kuro under Settings → API keys. First thing to test: one product Subject and one Seedance 2.5 scene on that key.
How this was checked
Kuro's side comes from Kuro's own catalog and code, and every Kuro price on this page is computed from the live credit table when the site is built. Higgsfield's side is documented only: we read its pricing page, help center, terms and developer documentation in a logged-out browser. Nothing was bought or generated on Higgsfield. Higgsfield's pages contradict each other on a few points (Kling credit rates, credits after cancelling, which models are unlimited). Where they do, this page uses the pricing page.
Next check due by January 14, 2027.
