## What it costs

- 5s · 720p · silent: 70 credits (≈ $1.66)
- 5s · 720p · with audio: 105 credits (≈ $2.49)
- 5s · 1080p · silent: 93.5 credits (≈ $2.22)

- 5s · 4K · with audio: 175 credits (≈ $4.16)

Dollar figures are approximate, at the Starter plan's rate of $19.00 for 800 credits.

## What it takes

- **Aspect ratios**: 16:9 9:16 1:1
- **Resolutions**: 720p 1080p 4K
- **Duration**: 3–15 seconds
- **Reference images**: Not accepted
- **Last frame**: Accepted

## When to reach for it

Kling 3.0 with nothing but the frame: a prompt, an optional first frame, an optional last frame, and the same 720p, 1080p and 4K ladder as Omni. There are no reference images and no reference video, so it cannot hold a subject the way Omni can. Anything the shot has to match must be in the first frame you hand it or described in the prompt.

What it is good at is the plainest job a clip model does: animate one picture, or interpolate between two. A last frame only works with a first frame beside it; on its own the request is refused. Once a first frame is attached, its shape sets the clip's: leave the aspect ratio unset, because one that disagrees with the frame is refused.

Be clear about the price against its sibling. Without sound the two cost the same per second at every resolution, and with sound on this one costs more at 720p and 1080p, so when you have references, or want audio below 4K, Omni is the better buy. The case for this one is narrower: it is Kling 3.0's plain endpoint rather than the Omni one, and a second vendor can run any take that starts from a first frame or names 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1, so those takes do not depend on a single provider being up; a prompt-only take left on Auto runs on one. Three aspect ratios, three to fifteen seconds, premium tier.

## How to prompt Kling 3.0

Describe what you want in your own words and Kuro writes the prompt for you. If you would rather write it yourself, this is what Kling 3.0 responds to.

Both Kling 3.0 models share a prompt, a clock and frames; what separates them is references. Kling v3 takes a prompt plus an optional first and last frame and nothing else. Omni adds reference images and a reference video, and there most of the prompt's work is saying what each input is for.

Describe what is visible and what moves, in the order it happens. A take holds one or two clear actions; a gradual change across the whole take is better shown with a last frame than with an adverb.

With a first frame, say once that the take starts exactly as the frame, then write only what changes. With both frames, write only the journey between them — and keep them a plausible few seconds apart, or you get a morph rather than a move.

Kling excels at expressive character motion and stylised action, and it over-animates a vague prompt. Keep motion physical and specific.

Sound is off unless you turn it on. When it is on, give the sound its own sentence and write any spoken line out word for word.

Keep the whole prompt under 2,500 characters; that is the ceiling on both models.

The same advice covers [Kling v3 Omni](https://meetkuro.com/models/kling-v3-omni-video.md). Their pages note what differs.

### What it can't do

- 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1 only.
- Kling v3 has no reference slot; a saved Subject contributes only its written description. To hold a face or a product from pictures, use Omni.
- No negative prompt. Write an absence as a positive fact at the moment the action would reveal it — "the banner is plain fabric".
- Native speech is an invented voice that differs from take to take; a recurring character's voice has to be replaced afterwards.
- A last frame needs a first frame, and there is no automatic length.
- Resolution picks the model's mode: 720p is standard, 1080p is pro, 4K is its top mode.

### Use something else when…

- You need 4:3, 3:4 or 21:9 framing: [Runway Gen-4.5](https://meetkuro.com/models/gen-4.5.md).
- A reference video and native sound belong in the same take, or the take runs past fifteen seconds: [Seedance 2.5](https://meetkuro.com/models/seedance-2.5.md).
- A person's exact performance from a source video should be recast onto a character: [Kling Motion Control](https://meetkuro.com/models/kling-v3-motion-control.md).
- A portrait should lip-sync to a voice track you already have: [Kling Avatar v2](https://meetkuro.com/models/kling-avatar-v2.md).

## Compared with

- [Kling 3.0 vs Veo 3.1](https://meetkuro.com/compare/kling-v3-video-vs-veo-3.1.md): Veo 3.1 when someone speaks a scripted line, or a reference picture has to hold. Kling 3.0 when the take runs past eight seconds, is square, or should be 4K.
- [Seedance 2.0 vs Kling 3.0](https://meetkuro.com/compare/seedance-2.0-vs-kling-v3-video.md): Seedance 2.0 when the shot has to keep people or products from references, or needs 4:3 or 21:9. Kling 3.0 for 1080p and 4K at a lower price.
- [Sora alternatives in 2026, after OpenAI shut it down](https://meetkuro.com/compare/sora-alternatives.md): Five Sora alternatives for AI video with sound: Veo in Google Flow, cheaper Kling clips, creator presets, agent-made films, or Runway's API. Sourced and dated.

## Guides that cover it

- [Two pictures, fifteen seconds: the first-and-last-frame method](https://meetkuro.com/guides/first-and-last-frame.md): Make the opening frame and the closing frame yourself, hand a video model both, and let it fill the middle. Most models take a last frame. What it buys.

## Kling v3 is one pick in the composer.

Every model in this catalog runs from the same prompt bar, priced in the same credits.
