Codex connects to Kuro as a remote MCP server. You add the endpoint once, sign
in once in the browser, and Codex can then call Kuro's tools. Everything it
makes lands in your Kuro library.

## Add the server

Run this in a terminal:

```sh
codex mcp add kuro --url https://api.meetkuro.com/mcp
```

There is no API key to paste. Kuro signs in with OAuth, and Codex registers
itself with Kuro automatically, so there is no client ID either.

## Sign in

1. If a browser opened on Kuro after the command, go to step 2. If not, start
   the sign-in yourself:

   ```sh
   codex mcp login kuro
   ```

   On a machine with no browser, add `--no-browser`: Codex prints the sign-in
   address, and you paste back the address you land on.

2. On Kuro, sign in (or create an account), review what Codex may do, and
   approve the connection.
3. Start Codex:

   ```sh
   codex
   ```

## Check it worked

`codex mcp list` shows **kuro** with OAuth as its auth. Inside Codex, `/mcp`
lists the servers it has active. Then ask for something that costs nothing:

> How many Kuro credits do I have left?

## One setup, three places

Codex keeps MCP servers in `~/.codex/config.toml`. The command above writes this
entry, which you can also type by hand:

```toml
[mcp_servers.kuro]
url = "https://api.meetkuro.com/mcp"
```

OpenAI's documentation states that the ChatGPT desktop app, the Codex CLI and
the Codex IDE extension share this configuration, so adding Kuro in one makes it
available in the others.

## A first job

> Three vertical images of a charcoal running shoe on a cracked salt flat at
> dawn. Cheapest model that does it well. Price it first.

Kuro tells Codex to name the format, the model and the price before it spends,
and to read a model's guide before its first use. Codex starts the images,
checks on them until they are ready, and gives you a link to each one in Kuro.

## Remove it

```sh
codex mcp remove kuro
```

`codex mcp logout kuro` clears the stored sign-in and keeps the server. To cut
every agent off at once, revoke the connection in Kuro under **Settings →
Connections**.

The commands and the config format come from OpenAI's
[Codex MCP documentation](https://learn.chatgpt.com/docs/extend/mcp?surface=cli)
and from `codex mcp --help`.

## About Kuro

Kuro is an AI picture studio: prompt-driven images, clips, voice-overs and music, and storyboard-backed films with consistent characters across every scene.

Agents connect over MCP and can generate directly:

```
claude mcp add kuro https://api.meetkuro.com/mcp --transport http
```

The app is at https://app.meetkuro.com and requires an account.

Each guide, model page, comparison and free tool page on this site (not a tool's variants, and not the index pages) has a Markdown twin at its own URL plus `.md`, and so do /benchmarks/, the English /agents/ page (as /agents.md) and the MCP tool reference. Every guide: https://meetkuro.com/guides/
