## Which one

Both make takes of up to fifteen seconds with sound generated in the same pass, and both take a first and a last frame. The decision comes down to references, shape, and how each one's price climbs with resolution.

References are Seedance 2.0's reason to be here. It takes up to nine reference images, three reference videos and three reference audio tracks, and its prompt is built around giving each one a job and a boundary: "Image 1 is Ana. Use it for her face, build and hair colour only." Kling 3.0 takes none. A face or a product reaches it only as a first frame, or through its sibling Kling v3 Omni, which seats seven images and one video. One catch on Seedance: a first frame and reference media are two different modes, so a take uses one or the other, never both.

Shape is the second split. Seedance 2.0 frames 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4, 9:16 and 21:9. Kling 3.0 frames 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1, so a 4:3 or cinema-wide deliverable rules it out.

Price is where they cross. Five seconds at 480p on Seedance is 33.5 credits, a draft tier Kling does not have. At 720p Seedance is 75 credits against Kling's 70 silent and 105 with sound, and Seedance's price does not change when sound is on, so at 720p with audio it is the cheaper of the two. Above that, Kling pulls well ahead: 1080p is 93.5 or 140 credits on Kling against 187.5 on Seedance, and 4K is 175 credits against 417. Passing Seedance a reference video raises every rung again, to 92 credits at 720p and 229.5 at 1080p.

Each has habits worth knowing before the first take. Kling over-animates a vague prompt, and its native speech is an invented voice that changes from take to take. Seedance tends to collapse two physical actions written into one beat, and small on-screen text decays over the take. Neither takes a negative prompt, so on both an absence has to be written as a positive fact at the moment the action would reveal it.

So a cast to hold, a 4:3 or 21:9 frame, or a cheap 480p draft goes to Seedance 2.0. A take at 1080p or 4K with nothing to hold from pictures goes to Kling 3.0. If you need Seedance's references and a take past fifteen seconds, that is Seedance 2.5, which runs to thirty.

## When neither is the right pick

Each model's prompting guide names the jobs it hands to another model. Both lists, as the guides write them:

### Use something other than Seedance when…

- A talking head should be driven by a voice track you already have: [OmniHuman 1.5](https://meetkuro.com/models/omni-human-1.5.md).
- An existing performance should move onto a new character: [Kling Motion Control](https://meetkuro.com/models/kling-v3-motion-control.md).
- A person in existing footage should be recast: [P-Video Replace](https://meetkuro.com/models/p-video-replace.md).
- One start image with always-on sound is the whole request: [Grok Imagine Video 1.5](https://meetkuro.com/models/grok-imagine-video-1.5.md).

### Use something other than Kling 3.0 when…

- You need 4:3, 3:4 or 21:9 framing: [Runway Gen-4.5](https://meetkuro.com/models/gen-4.5.md).
- A reference video and native sound belong in the same take, or the take runs past fifteen seconds: [Seedance 2.5](https://meetkuro.com/models/seedance-2.5.md).
- A person's exact performance from a source video should be recast onto a character: [Kling Motion Control](https://meetkuro.com/models/kling-v3-motion-control.md).
- A portrait should lip-sync to a voice track you already have: [Kling Avatar v2](https://meetkuro.com/models/kling-avatar-v2.md).

## Both are one pick in the same composer.

Switching models does not move your references or your library.
